Community Safety

A priority for every community is to ensure that it is a safe place to live, work and play.

The Community Safety Network brings together voluntary and community organisations who have an interest in community safety issues. It is represented in the Dundee Community Safety Partnership and  meets regularly at Number Ten, 10 Constitution Road, Dundee DD1 1LL. Objects

  • To reduce crime and fear of crime and create an environment in which people feel safe and are safe
  • To support the voluntary sector and encourage positive developments, with particular reference to the priorities set within Dundee’s Community Safety Plan
  • To encourage networking between voluntary & community organisations with an interest in community safety
  • To act as a focal point for consultation and action on community safety issues
  • To act as a channel of communication with the Community Safety Partnership on issues relevant to community organisations.
  • To collate voluntary organisations' views to influence the Community Safety Partnership and other relevant bodies.
  • To provide a forum to disseminate information on community safety issues

HALT HATE CRIME

For a copy of the Halt Hate Crime Booklet produced by Stonewall Scotland and the Equality network and funded by EHRC Scotland click here. This is a really informative handbook that details what constitutes a hate crime and has telephone and online contact details of where to report an incident for every region in Scotland.
