Summary: The Asda Foundation offers grant assistance to a limited number of requests received direct from registered charities and local community groups each year. Summary: Awards for All Scotland offers small grants to encourage participation in art, sport and community activities and projects promoting education, the environment and health in the local community. Summary: The Big Lottery Fund (BIG), is the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding. They run various funding programmes and help with a wide range of projects. Check funders website for more details.

Canoe Foundation

Award Amount: Average grant amount £1,000. In exceptional circumstances the Small Grants Panel may award up to a maximum of £2,000.

Summary: The Canoe Foundation's Small Grants scheme will consider assistance to projects that support or promote paddlesport activities for young people (18 years and under) and/or people with disabilities (any age but with a specific focus on those aged 25 or under). UK based community groups, clubs and schools are elgible to apply for capital costs associated with the paddlesport activities.

Closing Date: The Small Grants Panel meets three times a year with corresponding deadlines. Next deadline 07 October for consideration at the November panel meeting.



Cash 4 Clubs

Award Amount: Three award amounts:- £250, £500 or £1,000

Summary: The Cash 4 Clubs scheme (funded by Betfair and supported by SportsAid) offers small grant assistance to community sports clubs that are registered with their sports' National Governing body or local authority. Grants can cover costs for training or coaching as well as sports equipment.

Summary: Celebrate will support new and existing events and activities that mark the 2014 Commonwealth Games through arts, heritage, sports and local community celebrations. It will fund local celebration events and activities which stimulate greater involvement in community activity and develop our understanding as citizens of the Commonwealth. Celebrations can be a single one-off event or activities which end with a celebration event.

Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund

Summary: Managed by sportscotland, the Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund aims to encourage more people to be active and take part in sport. Projects will need to demonstrate they will make a difference in terms of impact on physical activity or sports participation. Awards will be for capital expenditure only.

The Bag4Sport Charity Foundation

Summary: Bag4Sport was created as a not-for-profit organisation as a way of helping UK sports clubs, schools and youth organisations to raise funds by collecting unwanted bags of textiles for which they receive payment. Some of the textiles go towards providing affordable clothing in Eastern Europe and Africa. The proceeds generated through Bag4Sport Ltd go to the Bag4Sport Charity Foundation which then supports the groups and clubs (that have participated in the textile recycling scheme)via the Small Grant Fund.

The Benjamin Gautrey Foundation

Summary: The Benjamin Gautrey Foundation aims to help young people (under the age of 21 years). The Trustees have four priorities:- supporting young people to enjoy sport in their free-time, whatever their background; support to young people to allow them to participate safely in sport; the provision of safety, protection and medical assistance of participants, officials and spectators at Motorcycle Sports Events in the UK and University Scholarships to students who wish to further their careers within the railway industry in conjunction with Network Rail and Keltbray. Summary: The Lord's Taverners Disability Sports Programme offers support for sporting and recreational activities for young people (under 25 years)with disabilities and special needs:- supplying specially adapted minibuses and sports wheelchairs and providing play, sports and sensory equipment. They also run a Cricket grants programme offering specially-adapted forms of cricket and cricket equipment to engage with young people and a Minibus Programme offering specially-adapted, wheelchair-accessible minibuses to schools, clubs and youth organisations across the UK.

The Robertson Trust

Young Start - Big Lottery Fund

Summary: The Big Lottery Young Start programme in Scotland distributes money from dormant bank accounts. It aims to create opportunities for children and young people aged between 8 and 24 years old to be confident, healthy, connected and enterprising. Grants may cover up to 100% of project and can be against both capital and revenue expenditure.
