IntroductionThe Community Toolkit first began as a local project in the rural area of Skye and Lochalsh. View the Community Toolkit on the Skye and Lochalsh CVO website. In 2007 the resource won a coveted COSLA award for Advancing Community Well Being. It now benefits communities across Scotland as a vital part of the services of over half the Scottish Third Sector Interface network. Next year (2013) will be the 10th anniversary since the resource began. An illustrated timeline can be downloaded here. The Community Toolkit can be acccessed on any of the following websites:-

Helping communities with e-inclusionThe Community Toolkit helps to bring communities together by encouraging volunteer involvement and supporting community activism. In 2007 Skye and Lochalsh CVO were the lead partner in an e-communities project that looked at the ways in which local communities used ICT. This project culminated in a two day workshop-based event promoting low-cost and free e-inclusion. The key findings from the e-communities project helped shaped Skye and Lochalsh CVO's approach to online service provision and the continued development of the Community Toolkit. A report from the e-communities project is included as a download here Community Toolkit TeamThe resource continues to be maintained and developed by the Community Toolkit team at Skye & Lochalsh CVO. Skye and Lochalsh CVO are committed to keeping the Community Toolkit up to date on a regular basis, responding to updates in legislation, changes to good practice, policies etc and verifying all sources of information before publishing on the Toolkit.
