The DVA's quarterly newsletter celebrated its 30th year of continuous publication in 2003. The print-run is now 800 as we are endeavouring to reduce our impact on the environment and move to e-copies.  The newsletter is currently posted to over 700 organisations and individuals in the Dundee area. It is also distributed to GPs surgeries, dentist's waiting rooms, both universities and Dundee College and all libraries and community centres in Dundee. At the time of publication, a hyperlink is sent out by email advertising the online version. If you wish to be added to the circulation list, please contact dva@number10.org  and indicate whether you would prefer to receive the newsletter by post or by email, or both.

We welcome articles of interest, news reports, digital images with captions and notification of events from voluntary sector organisations for inclusion in the newsletter.

We also accept adverts and inserts / flyers for inclusion. For details email: dva@number10.org

Message for OSCR

On 1 October 2009, the Companies Act 2006 introduced changes to the format of companies governing documents (the Memorandum and Articles of Association).   The Articles now include the company's objects and liabilities, which were previously found in the Memorandum.

This change effects:

  • companies making new applications for charitable status
  • existing charitable companies who are applying to OSCR for consent to change their Memorandum and Articles of Association
  • charities wishing to change their legal form to a company.

However, they are still receiving a small number in the old format which may create problems and delays for applicants.   Therefore applicants should make sure that applications for status or consent use the correct format of Memorandum and Articles of Association.

OSCR website has further information about how these changes effect new applications for charitable status and existing charities that require our consent to make changes.

It is important that they hold the latest copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association, which is also the same version that is held at Companies House.

Model versions of the new style Memorandum and Articles of Association can be found at the following websites:
